According to the IAC Charter :This organization shall be named the International Academy of Chief Information Officer (CIO) (hereby “IAC”).
Purpose IAC’s main purpose shall be to foster the learning and development of Chief Information Officers of the member economies. Its main activities include academic research and organization of policy dialogues in the field of CIO development.
Mission The objectives of the Academy are to study various issues and to pursue the universality of knowledge to advance applied theory in the filed of CIO. These objectives include the followings: Establishing academic and professional standards based on its research on social phenomenon relating to ICT by elucidating the gradual process of its cause and effect, social and technical relations as well as the framework between the society and ICT on this Information Age. Facilitating the exchange of information and knowledge among Academy members, professionals and individuals in academic, business and government professions who are highly concerned with issues related to CIO. Introducing a global standard of CIO model by uniting academic resources with practical case studies to strengthen and enhance international competitiveness of the industry for the new Information Age.
Activities 1. Organizing workshops, conventions, symposia, lectures, seminars and meetings2. Conducting academic research projects and surveys3. Issuing publications such as journals and proceedings4. Cooperation with related Academies whenever possible to exchange resources and carry out joint research projects5. Offering opportunities to young and top scholarly researchers actively engaged in the field of CIO including postgraduate students6. Undertaking global projects7. Carrying out any other worldwide activities to accomplish objectives of the Academy
Characteristics and Culture The Academy transcends the boundaries of single academic disciplines to share research goals and engage in a wide range of research projects. Academic, business and government shall cooperate to conduct joint research projects for creation and dissemination of knowledge in the field of CIO. The Academy shall be a dynamic and global association with democratic framework. Holding international Academy members, the Academy shall meet various demands of the world. The Academy shall facilitate the active exchange of information and ideas among scholars to become a leading association open to any individual engaged in the field of CIO. |
